#3 Yukipoyo “Be a GAL”
To “represent” something means to feel pride and undeniable love for the thing you represent. Everyone can feel they represent something and embody the “represent mindset.” In this talk and music show, guests create theme songs of their stories to be passed down to future generations.
This episode’s guest is Japanese model Yukipoyo.
She is famous for her love of gyaru, a trend that used to dominate teenage fashion but is now on the brink of extinction.
Making her debut as a fashion model during high school created hardships at school that eventually led to her rebirth as one of Japan’s top gyaru models.
“Embrace your uniqueness.”
“Do what you love!”
…
Yukipoyo’s words of encouragement are for young women who try so hard to please the people around them that they end up losing sight of who they truly are.
DJ MASTERKEY and JUN take her heartfelt messages and put them in a song.
